Jerry Tracey

Chief Meteorologist

Jerry Tracey is NBC 13's Chief Meteorologist. He brings Birmingham viewers weather reports at 6 and 10 p.m.

Tracey came to NBC 13 from the Weather Channel in July 1987. Previously, he worked at WINK-TV in Fort Myers, Fla. and at Accu-Weather. He received his bachelor's degree in meteorology from Penn State University.

Tracey was named the UPI Best Weathercaster in Alabama and twice received the Best Weathercaster award from the Associated Press. He has been nominated for an Emmy for Best Weathercaster in the Southeastern Region. He was twice a member of the NBC 13 News team awarded an Emmy for Best Newscast. He also has been awarded the American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval for Television Weathercasting.

Tracey remains active in community events. He has co-hosted the Children's Miracle Network Broadcast every year since 1990 and he makes 50 appearances annually at area schools.
